  1. Career Exposure Program STRATEGIC PLAN 2011-2012 Helping students obtain pre-professional experience and readiness for the real work force, enhancing leadership and networking skills.

  2. VISION • Have students gain pre-professional experience before graduating. • Allow students that have not had the opportunity to go to internships or co-ops to volunteer and gain experience, leadership and networking skills.

  3. VISION • Have the engineering students volunteer at least one day a week for 5 hours. (Company Discretion) • Nominations/Selections will be based on merit system

  4. SHORT TERM GOALS • 6 departments within the college. • Have a minimum of 3 companies per department. • Benefiting (90-180 students) per semester • Have a list of participating companies by 08/15/2011

  5. SHORT TERM GOALS • Promote applications/nominations and program for a month. • Application deadline: 09/23/2011 • Begin 8 week program within the fall 2011 semester. • First week: October 1st -7th • Ending Period: December 1st -3rd

  6. LONG TERM GOALS • Establish a long-term relationship program with local companies. • Engineering College & UTEP Community known for constant participation and volunteering in this program. • Establish program for all colleges. • Sponsorship

  7. STUDENT BENEFITS • Pre-professional experience prior to graduation. • Heads up when looking for a job. • Accessible and affordable. • Provides opportunities to non-citizens . • Promotes UTEPs leadership and community involvement. • Leadership and networking skills.

  9. COMPANY BENEFITS • A special feature and uniqueness of this program is that it is fully based on your needs or desires. • Many students are willing to participate and excited to have the opportunity to get real world experience. • Your leadership and support will be recognized in our website.

COMPANY BENEFITS • Perfect way to give back to the community and receive help from motivated students. • Our applications are based on your desires (i.e. Want civil engineers, AUTOCAD knowledge, etc.) • No cost, this will be a volunteering experience. • Of course, get to choose the amount of student(s) you wish to allow and participate in your company.

  13. LEGACY Assumption is to have at least 3 companies per department hosting a range (5-10 students) volunteering a minimum amount of 5 hours a week.
