  2. Focus on our High School Seniors: School & Community Youth in Anytown are experiencing more school opportunities for prosocial involvement, and more rewards for prosocial involvement in their schools and communities. “Mrs. Jenkins was my 9th grade English teacher. She still stops me in the hall to see how I am doing in my classes.” – Jay Wray, 2013 Senior, Hawks Varsity hockey player Prosocial involvement includes opportunities to be involved, having input in projects, and recognition and praise for effort and good work.

  3. Focus on High School Seniors: Family & Beliefs “My mom and step-dad have been there for me all my life, even through high school. I am glad that my sister started high school last year so I could look out for her.” --Alejandro Mayes, Anytown Senior 2013 Anytown youth stayed close to their families while they reported more frequent attendance at services, and changing beliefs in right vs. wrong. Family attachment is how close and open youth feel with their parents. Religiosity indicates how frequently youth attend services. Moral order reflects youth opinions on if there are times when something justifies cheating, fighting, lying, or stealing.

  4. Focus on our High School Seniors: Academics A majority of Anytown Seniors are planning to start college within a year of graduating, despite decreasing performance and commitment to school. “It has been really tough for me to focus this semester. But I knew I just had to stick with it even though I have mostly been dreaming about graduation!!!!! I will be majoring in Marine Biology at Johns Hopkins in the fall.“ – MayinaSoltera, 2013 Senior Poor performance indicates youth perception of their overall grades and where they fall in relation to other students. Lack of commitment reflects youth interest, perceived relevance and long-term usefulness of coursework, and liking or disliking of being in school.
