TRANSFER TO A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT (Same classification) • Use your social and work networks to find out about vacancies • Check out vacancies on the SPB VPOS system • Sign up for electronic notification of vacancies • Call the contact person and find out if transfer applications will be accepted • Submit an application and resume You may be competing against employees on exam lists or employees on SROA or re-employment lists SEIU Local 1000 www.seiu1000.org Unit 1/career mobility/find a new position in state service
TRANSFER TO A DIFFERENT CLASSIFICATION You can’t transfer to just any classification, there are rules: • The classes must be substantially the same • You don’t need to meet the minimum education/experience requirements, but MUST have the needed knowledge, skills and ability • You must have any required license, credential or certification • The position can’t be in the same class series as your current class • The position must be within about plus or minus of 10%of your current salary SEIU Local 1000 www.seiu1000.org Unit 1/career mobility/find a new position in state service
