  2. company's:

  3. Macbook , apple Amid a slew of incremental improvements to its iPad tablets and MacBook laptops, Apple today announced some landmark news about its oldest surviving operating system: It will not charge for the latest big upgrade, Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, breaking from a tradition that goes back 16 years and shining a light on a long-unfolding reversal in how tech profits are made. Eighteen years ago, the tech industry’s dominant company made nearly half its revenue selling OS licenses. Now, as Apple just confirmed, the prices of OS licenses are headed towards zilch.

  4. Windows Windows 7 has hit the computer world with a bang and is turning heads around the world. From the time Windows 7 was in its beta form, until its release in October, Microsoft has made sure that this operating system was up to par. One thing that stands out about Windows 7 is the ability to personalize and make it your own, alongside this comes new and advanced features such as Snap, Shake, Pin, Windows Search and much more. We are in a new age so a new fresh interface and look of Windows 7 are welcome changes, especially compared to the more resource-hungry and less innovative operation of Vista.

  5. Alien ware : I have an Alien ware M17+ from the start of 2010, which has run quite well until Thursday, where I encountered a bad problem . When I wanted to resume it from standby the fan was running wildly, while nothing was showing on the screen. I restarted by removing the power and battery (since it wasn't responding to the power button). But on restart I got the "OS missing" message. Since I once had a problem where I accidently had switched to use the wrong her desk to boot from (I have two 500GB hard disks configured as one drive), I went into BIOS and changed the configuration of the hard disks (both the SATA configuration and which drive was bootable) a lot of times. But I still got the operating system message and a PXE E-61 error (check cable..) or just a prompt.

  6. Unix In the case of the UNIX system, the answer is an unqualified "Yes." The UNIX system has continued to develop over the past twenty-five years. In millions of installations running on nearly every hardware platform made, the UNIX system has earned its reputation for stability and scalability. Over the years, UNIX system suppliers have steadily assimilated new technologies so that UNIX systems today provide more functionality as any other operating system.

  7. Linux Linux is, in simplest terms, an operating system. It is the software on a computer that enables applications and the computer operator to access the devices on the computer to perform desired functions. The operating system (OS) relays instructions from an application to, for instance, the computer's processor. The processor performs the instructed task , then sends the results back to the application via the operating system.

  8. IOS 7 IOS 7 is the biggest change to Apple's mobile OS since Steve Jobs changed his mind and allowed third party apps onto the iPhone. Where previous IOS updates were largely a case of install-and-get-on- with-it, IOS 7 takes a bit more getting used to. Don't worry, though: Apple isn't hurling babies out with the bathwater here. The IOS we know and largely love is still there, but it's been given one hell of a makeover.
