    4. 4 Situation Reporting Provides situational awareness to all ESF #2 support elements, industry, and OFAs* SITREPs provide a historical component as to what took place and when SITREPs are also utilized for documenting issues/priorities, actions and resolutions NCC SITREPs are normally published twice daily during an incident and contain inputs garnered from ESF locations as well as from both government and industry NCC representatives involved in response/ restoration of the telecommunications infrastructure Appendix: Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) attached as an Appendix to the SITREP providing an overall “holistic” view of the common operating picture (COP)

    8. 8 SITREP Structure Event Status: Provides the Who, What, When, Why, and How Updated twice daily Communications System Status: Provides a qualitative description on the status within an impact area Provides a qualitative description on the status of other CIKR that communications has interdependencies to include the following: Water Power Transportation Law Enforcement Current Activities: Lists all sites where ESF#2/NCS personnel have been deployed along with actions being taken at the following: JFO RRCC SEOC NRCC ECT-N IMC

    9. 9 Issues: Major issues from Regional SITREPS will be rolled up into the NCC SITREP Once issues are closed, they will be removed within a 24-hour period Priorities: Both Federal and industry priorities will be identified and used for planning purposes Appendices: Open sources links and DIRS reporting shall be attached to the SITREP for situational awareness SITREP Structure Cont.

    10. 10 No classified material is contained within the SITREP NCC SITREPS are FOUO and should be controlled, stored, handled, transmitted, distributed, and disposed of in accordance with DHS Policy relating to FOUO information and is not to be released to the public, the media, or other personnel who do not have a valid need-to-know without prior approval of an authorized DHS official The entity which owns the information (e.g., Federal, private sector), provides guidance as to what can and cannot be shared If specific information is required, please call or email the NCC Watch at 703-235-5080 or ncs@dhs.gov Information Handling Guidelines
