Reopening of School • As per the current govt guidelines given following processes would need to be implemented before, during and on reopening of school. • School reopening will comply with directives of govt, public health authorities, consent of parent representatives and effective steps by the School administration. • School administration plays a key role in reopening.   4. Cleaning and Sanitation-General Guidelines in School • Common areas to be cleaned frequently. (e.g., every 2 or 3 hours ) Frequent disinfecting of door handles, desks and other common spaces. • Libraries, Auditorium, Play Zones, gyms, and playgrounds off limits unless they can be sanitized between groups or they are being used as additional classroom. • Students assist to keep their space individual desk, dormitory space, electronic items etc. and things they are using clean, General Sanitation needs to become a culture with everyone in school. General cleaning recommendations • Wear disposable gloves and gowns for all tasks in the cleaning process, including handling trash. • Frequent disinfection of surfaces and objects touched by multiple people is important. • Wear skin protection and eye protection for potential splash hazards while cleaning • Ensure adequate ventilation while cleaning indoor areas. • Avoid mixing chemical products, label diluted cleaning solutions, (date when cleaning solution was made etc.) • Store and use chemicals out of the reach of students For more information, Visit: https://www.bluecircle.in/school-healthcare-service.php

Cont 2 • Additional personal protective equipment like glasses, face shield etc. might be required based on the cleaning / disinfectant products being used as there might be a risk of splash. • Gloves and gowns should be removed carefully to avoid contamination of the wearer and the surrounding area. • Always wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds immediately after removing gloves. • Disposal of all the mask gloves and other disposable items should be done as per Bio medical waste management protocol. • Ensure safe and correct application of disinfectants and keep these products away from all students.   7. Cleaning and disinfecting your building or facility • Close areas used by the person who is sick. Make that a containment zone or area. • Open outside doors and windows to increase air circulation in the containment zone. • Clean and then disinfect all areas used by the person who is sick/ tested positive, such as offices, washrooms, common areas, shared electronic equipment’s like tablets, touch screens, keyboards, and vending machines etc. • If an area or facility has not been used or visited by the person who is sick for more than 7 days than additional cleaning and disinfection is not necessary. Cleaning and disinfecting outdoor areas • Outdoor areas, like playgrounds in schools and parks do not require disinfection. • Do not spray disinfectant on outdoor playgrounds - it is not an efficient use of supplies and is not proven to reduce risk of COVID 19 to the public. • High-touch surfaces made of plastic or metal, such as playground equipment grab bars and railings, play structures, benches, tables should be cleaned routinely & disinfection is not recommended. • Sidewalks and roads should not be disinfected as spread of COVID-19 from these surfaces is very low and disinfectants are not efficient. Hygiene Schools may implement the following recommendations • Schools to have a provision of access to hand sanitizer where ever hand washing is not possible ( eg ; office areas and visitor areas) • All staff / students may be required to use mask compulsorily. • Everyone should maintain hand hygiene at regular intervals, provision of liquid soap and running water at hand washing point to be assured by school administration. • Hold frequent awareness sessions for staff, teachers and student’s hygiene, such as frequent hand washing ;respiratory hygiene &physical distancing.   10. Hand sanitization: • If soap and water are not available and hands are not visibly dirty, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol may be used. However , hands are visibly dirty always wash hands with soap and water. • Additional key times to wash hands include: After blowing one’s nose, coughing, or sneezing. • After using the restroom. • Before eating or preparing food.   11. Disinfection and Ventilation • Clean and disinfect school vehicles between uses and with daily deep cleaning after every use to minimize the spread. Take steps to ensure that all water systems (e.g., drinking water system) are safe to use after a prolonged facility shutdown to minimize the risk of Legionnaires’ disease and other diseases associated with water. For soft surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes • Clean the surface using soap and water or with other cleaners appropriate for use on these surfaces. • Launder rugs and drapes, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Use the warmest appropriate water and dry them completely before use. • Disinfect these items with an EPA-registered household disinfectant. Disinfection of electronics • such as tablets, touch screens, keyboards, remote controls, and mouse: • Consider putting a removable cover on key boards that can be regularly removed and cleaned. • On other surfaces alcohol-based wipes or sprays containing at least 60% alcohol may be used. Laundry For clothing, towels, linens and other items • Avoid person to person contact while collecting laundry for washing • Use the warmest available water for laundry and dry items completely. • Wear disposable gloves when handling dirty laundry from a person who is sick. • Do not shake dirty laundry. • Clean and disinfect clothes hampers after every use. . • After handling laundry remove gloves, and wash hands right away.   15. Physical distancing • Keep students with the same group and in the same classroom, with teachers going in and out of class rooms. • Apply physical distancing in cafeterias during meal time and stager meal time for all. • Avoid indoor extracurricular activities as far as possible. • Consider staggering of timing of classes to limit physical interaction. Cont 2 • Restrict non-school staff, including parents, from entering school buildings by implementing student drop-off at entrance. • Consider reducing seating capacity of school vehicle’s & bus to allow for one student per seat with mask compulsory. • Consider smaller groups of students that are staggered for outside play • Consider using barriers on bus and other vehicles at entrances of campus /building for the screening and thermal scan. • Develop specific walkway lanes to ensure adequate separation if students and staff movement between classrooms.
