Senior year is a BIG deal, and there is A LOT to do, such as: Complete SAT/ACT testing Create college list Write college essays Submit college applications Complete your FAFSA and/or CSS Profile Apply for scholarships Etc.!!!! Etc.!!!! Etc.!!!! All of this while still balancing your school work, senior activities, jobs, clubs, service and LIFE!

  3. Having a PLAN OF ACTION this summer can save you big headaches later! *Please do not actually work on your laptop while by a pool or body of water! Ha!

  4. CAP Spring & Summer Suggestions for COLLEGE: Finalize your college list (visit campuses if you can!) Determine application deadlines Begin applications Write application essays*** If still testing, target study for the SAT/ACT Ask for copies of your immunization records (easier in the summer)

  5. ***DID YOU KNOW???*** The Common Application essays for the 2019-2020 cycle are already available online? The essays are the same as this year! Get an early start and find them on commonapp.org (may need to search “essay prompt”)

CAP Spring & Summer Suggestions for FINANCIAL AID: Gather parent/guardian taxes for 2017 and 2018 (every page) Create an FSA ID for YOU, and an FSA ID for YOUR PARENT/GUARDIAN here, if applicable: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid *We will work on the FAFSA together at ISCHS in October

  7. CAP Spring & Summer Suggestions for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Verify whether you have any special requirements before applying to a college/university, and complete in a timely manner If TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) testing is necessary, study and test during the summer, or plan to test EARLY in senior year

  8. CAP Spring & Summer Suggestions to EASE OTHER ISSUES: Confirm your FULL LEGAL NAME. It should be the same on your documentation (ID, passport, Social Security Card, parent taxes, license, school records, school ID, etc.) Correct this if needed! Confirm that all SAT and/or AP scores are under your FULL LEGAL NAME, and fall under the same College Board account. Correct this if needed! (Same with ACT)

  9. Senior Year General Timeline July/August 2019:If applicable, work on Quest Bridge application, and other suggested activities September 2019: Begin submitting applications October 2019: Attend school’s FAFSA night; submit FAFSA and/or CSS Profile; attend school’s College Application Night December 2019: Complete all applications prior to winter break Throughout 2019-2020: Apply for scholarships!
