  2. Details • Projects available for Computer Science majors • Numbers: 3-4 students • 1/6 unit PQP in A-Term 2017 • Project Dates: mid-October to mid-December, 2017 (7.5 weeks) • Projects begin before start of B-Term

Project Topics • Projects at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center (NERD Center) • “Outsource” projects using Microsoft technology (although some are internal) • Previous projects • Microsoft Garage • Software support for “Hackathons” • Application Virtualization Group • Code churn dashboard • Museum of Science • Data analysis, Architecture, Dashboard for Hall of Human Life

  4. Previous Project – Code Churn Dashboard • “Churn” refers to sections of code that frequently changed • Churned more likely to contain bugs • Developed Web-based application to use code repository to identify churned code • Managers use to select code for additional testing
