  1. “All Scripture is God-breathed...” 2 Timothy 3:16a

  2. “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21

  3. “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13

  4. 1. God Flooded the Whole World.

  5. “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth...So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created – and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground – for I regret that I have made them.” Genesis 6:5-7

  6. “Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.” Genesis 6:11-13

  7. “I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.” Genesis 6:17

  8. “To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.” Isaiah 54:9a

  9. “To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.” Isaiah 54:9a Peter declares: “only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water” 1 Peter 3:20b “he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people” 2 Peter 2:5 “By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.” 2 Peter 3:6

  10. “You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.” Genesis 6:19

  11. “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.” Luke 17:26-27

  12. 2. God Saved a Faithful Family.

  13. “But Noah found favor (grace) in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis 6:8

  14. “This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” Genesis 6:8-9

  15. “Then the Lord shut him in.” Genesis 7:16

  16. 3. God Repopulated the Planet.

  17. “‘Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.’ And God said, ‘This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:’” Genesis 9:11-12

  18. What This Story Means for You

  19. The Lord takes sin seriously – and so should we.

  20. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (KJV)

  21. 2. The Lord knows how to save us.

  22. “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.” Genesis 6:22

  23. “if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others... if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.” 2 Peter 2:5,9

  24. 3. Baptism, like the flood, brings cleansing.

  25. “God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also – not the removal ofdirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ” 1 Peter 3:20b-21

  26. “By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly... But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?” 2 Peter 3:7,10,11

  27. Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord... what about you?
