  1. Praying for our nation ‘Devote yourselves to prayer, and be thankful.’ Col 4;2-3 (NIV)

  2. scriptures… 1 Tim2;1-6 (NLT) I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.

  3. scriptures…from Col 4;2-6 (NLT) Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ… (to) proclaim this message … Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractiveso that you will have the right response for everyone.

  4. Scriptures…Eph 6; 10 – 18 (NLT) Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armour so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.’

  5. Scriptures…Psalms 33: 10 – 22 (NLT) The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken. What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. From his throne he observes all who live on the earth. He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do.The best-equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior.Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory—for all its strength, it cannot save you. But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine. We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield.

  6. prayers…The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we also have forgiven those who trespass against us.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen
