Analysis of Assigned Garment Garment Scenario: • Upscale Department Store • Women’s Knee Length Coat • Department: Outwear • Wool Blend • Department Store Price Range $150-$200 • Mid Range Selling Item in 2011 • Carried only in Sangria Red Strengths of Assigned Garment: • The price is affordable for this customer • Perfect for cold climates • Casual and comfortable; versatile • Classic Staple garment Weaknesses of Assigned Garment: • Limited color choice • Requires Dry-cleaning • The cost of wool has increased and may make the garment expensive for the customer

Target Market Profile Target Market: • Upper middle class, fashion savvy, business woman between the ages of 30-40 Demographics: • College educated • Annual income around $65,000+ {single} and $80,000-$150,000 {married} • Possibly married with dependent children • Psychographics: • Enjoys wearing fashionable apparel with a busy lifestyle whether be at work or tending to her family • This woman prefers quality over quantity in regards to apparel choices and is willing to spend on the necessities • Also she is an active woman with a particular interest in art and the fashion industry. Style is important for her daily upkeep and she expresses her attitude through her wardrobe. Interests: • The target market shops at retailers like Neiman Marcus, Dillard’s, Nordstrom, Saks 5th Ave, etc. • Enjoys higher end retailers that provide optimal customer service and custom, classic looks.

  4. Fall 2012 Season Analysis • According to Pantone Colors we will be seeing very bold colors such as red, orange, yellow, pink, and turquoise. • “Old Lady” handbags will be in for fall 2012. They will have framed construction with a top handle. • Short trousers that have more room through the hips and taper toward the ankle. • Ankle Booties, also known as Hybrid booties will be very popular. They will be updated with patterns and constructions. • Leathers and furs will also remain very popular. The slouchy leather pant is a must have for fall 2012. Furs are used more for accessories.
