Explosive Detection in Airports: Carry-on luggage Team: SimulationShaobo Fang; MalihaHossain; AnushreePhanse; FengShuangStammeAdvisor: Charles Bouman, Prof. ECE Graduate Advisors: Joseph Ernest; Shao fu Shih OVERVIEW: Cutting edge technology for airport security Create simulations of explosives using MATLAB Potentially work with an expert in explosives to make accurate simulations of explosives • SIMULATOR’S ROLE • To provide proof of concept for detection algorithm by making virtual explosives in checked in baggage of different shapes and intensities. • OBJECTIVES • Test Algorithm for explosive detection. • Make virtual explosives of different shapes, sizes and properties. • Ability to accept inputs from users and output images with customized explosives for testing. • A GUI to manipulate existing shapes such as rotating, stretching, shearing, etc. The red area indicated in the scanning result is an actual bomb. The simulated 3-D model of series binary matrices using MATLAB.
