Significance of the research This research project explores the requirements for managing electronic records in accord with archival requirements by investigating a specific instance of record keeping as it evolves in response to legislated requirements. This project specifically addresses the preservation of software-dependent data objects. This kind of research is important because record keeping solutions need to stay responsive to evolving technological, economic, legislative, and other developments.
