  3. Reminder about Senate Bill 982 Students must be enrolled in the “college preparatory curriculum” Unless Student’s parent/legal guardian approves student enroll in existing “state high school graduation requirements”

  5. A student must have earned 2 full credits to be considered a Sophomore Students must earn 23 credits to graduate from Bartlesville High School earn credits Students must successfully complete 8 units to enroll in the 11th grade at BHS

  6. Graduation with HONORS • complete specified courses • earn unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher in the discipline National Honor Society To be invited to join National Honor Society as a 10th Grader, students must earn an unweighted GPA of 3.51 or higher in 9th grade

  7. Oklahoma’s Promise (Eligibility) • Apply during 8th, 9th or 10th grade year • Verify parents earn $50,000 or less per year at the time of application • Student must meet requirements: • Complete 17 required units • GPA of at least 2.5 for grades 9-12 • Attend school regularly • Stay out of trouble

  8. Why take End-of-Instruction tests? ACE Legislation requires EOIs 1. Required for graduation from high school in Oklahoma 2. Results recorded on transcripts: Advanced knowledge or Satisfactory Limited Knowledge and Unsatisfactory scores are not recorded on transcripts; students must re-take tests until they reach at least Satisfactory. Students must take all EOIs and must pass 4 EOIs: Required: Algebra I and English II Choose from 2 others: Geometry, Algebra II, Biology I, U.S. History

  13. ACE Legislation (reminder) Students must complete 3 units of math above 8th grade level Algebra I Honors, Geometry Honors & Alg. II Honors taken before 9th grade will not fulfill the 3 required maths (Spanish I and French I in 8th grade can be applied to graduation requirements)

Enrolling in Driver Education • Enrollment is with Driver Ed. teacher • Cost: $230 • Students must be at least age 15 • Classes before and after school day • Summer classes during June and during July • First come, first served basis—limited space • Enroll for summer, fall: after Spring Break • Credit: ½ unit of elective credit
