  1. Lifebuoy Swasthya Chetna Lifebuoy’s mission is to make a billion Indians feel safe and secure by meeting their health and hygiene needs. Being India's largest selling hygiene soap brand, Lifebuoy is well placed to take the message of hygiene to all.

  2. Lifebuoy Swasthya Chetna (LBSC) • Lifebuoy's SwasthyaChetna is the largest private rural health and hygiene educational programme ever undertaken in India. A large percentage of rural population in India does not wash their hands on important occasions. The objective of the programme is to educate people about basic hygienic habits such as washing hands with soap. • LBSC drives the message that hand washing with soap prevents life-threatening diseases, particularly diarrhoeal and respiratory infections. The focus is on rural communities, starting with school children, influential figures such as mothers and village elders as they are more likely to carry the hygiene message to their families and communities. This helps drive a change in behaviour throughout the community. • To ensure that the message of hygiene awareness is received well, the programme involves a range of engaging activities, including quizzes, games and songs and the popular 'glo-germ' demonstration kit, which shows up germs on the hands, even after they've been rinsed with water - proving that soap is essential to staying healthy. • Since 2002, the project has touched more than 120 million Indians. In recognition of this massive effort in the year 2006, the Indian Postal Department released a special Lifebuoy SwasthyaChetna Postal cover
