Reading: genre studies, author studies, analyzing theme & character traits, reading for details & information, identifying from a variety of genres • Comparing Plots • Writing Personal & Fictional Narrative, Response to literature (analyzing character traits & theme), Summary writing (reading non-fiction text) ** Minimum of 3 AR Quizzes/Trimester at their reading level. Curriculum- Language Arts

Place Value to the millions, addition & subtraction • 2-Digit Multiplication & 2/3 step division • Algebra and identifying formulas • Dream Box • Geometry-angles, shapes, area, perimeter, volume • Fractions & Decimals- addition, subtraction, converting fractions, mixed numbers • Probability, patterns, statistics Curriculum- Math

Science Electricity & Magnets Life Science-plants & animals Earth Science-rocks, volcanoes, earthquakes • Social Studies Geography California History, the first Californians, early tribes, Western Exploration, Spanish California, Missions, The Gold Rush, California becoming a state Curriculum- Science & Social Studies

Assignments Students are responsible for completing all their class work. • Assignments must be completed! • Unfinished Class work should be finished as homework. • Homework * Reading Log due every Monday! * Math (Daily) * Spelling/Grammar Textbooks can go home What is a STAR??   9. Special projects will have advance notice • Project notices will be sent home to parents • Email reminders will be sent out • Special projects are to be worked on at home Special Projects
