  2. O Passado contínuo é usado, basicamente, para descrever três tipos de ações: USOS

  3. Aquelas que estavam ocorrendo num tempo dado no passado The girl wasstudyingin Greecein 1988.

  4. 2. Aquelas que estavam ocorrendo num dado tempo do passado quando outra ação veio a ocorrer (interrompendo a ação anterior). Nesse caso, teremos duas sentenças:

  5. Uma no passado contínuo ( a que se refere ao fato mais antigo) e outra no passado simples ( a que se refere ao fato mais recente). Geralmente utiliza-se, nesses casos, o conectivo “when”.

  7. 3. Aquelas que estavam ocorrendo simultaneamente num tempo dado do passado. Neste caso, teremos sempre duas sentenças no passado contínuo e, geralmente, a presença do conectivo “while”.
