Significant Dates • 25 Jan 2007 – TWIC Final Rule and MMC SNPRM published • 02 Jul 2007 – NVIC 03-07 published • 13 Jul 2007 – TWIC 1.2 published – FSP amendments due 04SEP07 • 14 Sep 2007 – SBA Guides published • 20 Sept 2007 – Contactless Reader Specification published • 28 Sept 2007 – TWIC 1.5 published – CNMI, additional visas & set final fees • 16 Oct 2007 – First Enrollment Center opened (Wilmington, DE) • 12 Mar 2008 – TWIC 1.6 published – E2 Visa added

Updates • Policy Advisory Council reinstated; 4 decisions published • 01-07 TWIC & Law Enforcement Officials & Other Regulatory Agencies • 02-07 Escorting Aboard U.S.-Flagged Vessels Operating in Foreign Waters • 01-08 Redefining Secure Areas and Acceptable Access Control • 02-08 Federal & Law Enforcement Officials Authority to act as Escorts on Regulated Facilities and Vessels • As of 06 March 2008, approximately • 209,000 workers have pre-enrolled, • 138,000 workers have enrolled, and • 29,000 TWICs have been activated at 82 enrollment centers. • Nationwide compliance date for all USCG credentialed mariners and MTSA regulated vessels remains 25 Sept 2008; facility compliance dates have yet to be published for each COTP zone. • As per the SAFE Port Act, the Pilot Program will be conducted at 5 distinct geographic locations. Sites include: • Ports of LA/LB • The Port of New York/New Jersey & the Staten Island Ferry • Port of Brownsville, TX • Watermark Cruises (Small Passenger Vessel in Annapolis, MD) • Magnolia Marine
