LTM Overview • LTMs are expected to provide general supervision and monitoring of students during lunch/nutritional breaks and yard duty. • Your job duties are not to include those tasks which would ordinarily be undertaken by EA/Teaching or other affiliated members. • At Mutchmor, you would • help supervise 3 classrooms (grade ½, grade 4/5, and grade 6) to ensure they are eating their lunches/snacks, provide assistance, and ensure safe and proper routines are followed • assist with road crossing across 4th Avenue when students are at recess

  3. LTM Rate of pay • Mutchmor requires an LTM for the following hours: • 11:10 - 12:10 • 2:00 – 3:00 • A monitor could be hired for one or both of these time slots. • LTMs are paid by timesheets. Pay is two weeks in arrears. • LTMs earn $11.50 per hour + 4% in lieu of vacation. • LTMs do not work (and are not paid) on PD days, Christmas or March Break. • Pay for Statutory Holidays is in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

  4. Hiring New LTMs • Hiring is done at each site. Complete and submit the following forms to our main office: • Application for Casual Employment • TD1 & TD1ON (tax forms) • Direct Deposit form/void cheque • Police Records Check (PRC) for the Vulnerable Sector within last 6 months (blue form)* • Original PRCs must be included with the package • Note: TB tests are no longer required (FOR ANY Position). • Once you are hired, LTMs are expected to complete the following training. You will receive a certificate for each training • Online Lunch Monitor Training (see next slide) • Safe Practices for Working Alone training certificate (approx 15 min)* • Workplace Violence & Harassment training certificate (approx 1 hour)* *These are conditions of employment and LTMs cannot start working until HR receives confirmation that the requirements are completed. • Once HR receives the completed hiring package, HR provides an Employment Identification Number (EIN)

  5. LTM Training • All new LTMs are required to complete the online Lunchtime Monitor (LTM) training. • The training should be completed within 1 week of receipt of the EIN. • LTM Training is paid (1 hour) and is to be completed at the school. • The training is not accessible from home. • The training program consists of an online video, followed by questions to be answered after each module. • You will coordinate with the Principal to complete this training. • Safe Practices for Working Alone and Workplace Violence & Harassment training are online training sessions; these can be done at home or at the school. They are conditions of employment in Ontario.

  6. Replacing LTMs • If you are sick or need to be absent, the school attempts to replace you with a casual LTMs.

  7. Exit • All LTMs are hired as casual employees, with an end date of the last day of the school year. • If an LTM leaves part way through the year, HR receives notification with your EIN and an end date so your record can be updated.
