Status of Negotiations: • Romania: Minister has sent declaration for 1%, Bravo! • Sweden: May 4th in Bonn, no news • Italy: Yesterday meeting of I+D ministers; hopefully FAIR was on the agenda? • Other countries: being contacted • Last FAIR Meetings: • IKAB on April 26th at GSI: e.g. Industry Forum  I. Augustin • STI on April 27th at GSI: e.g. AIC  I. Augustin • AFI on April 25th at Bonn T. Beier • By-law subgroupon May 21th at DESY:  A. Lambert • ISC on May 3d in Bonn: Want to hear more ?  J. Eschke • Alignment with BMBF and support of intent to start FAIR Project in November /December 2007.  this date is a MUST !!! • ISC installed Task Force headed by Dr. Gierlinski, ESFRI vice chair, for making all necessary steps to achieve goal of Project Start in 2007, first meeting in early June 2007 at around ECRI meeting at Hamburg

A.o.B.: • Helmholtz president Mlynek accepts GSI-ITEP Proposal for the creation of a Helmholtz Rosatom FAIR Russia Research Center (FRRC) and approves 1289000 Euro as 50% of the centers budget, other 50% from ROSATOM Signing and opening targeted for September 17/18 , 2007  more from FW • Accelerator Institutional meeting on in-kind contributions from partner laboratories with accelerator expertiseto allow for FAIR planning,  to be scheduled for End of September -early October 2007 • Date of FAIR Project Start Ceremony in December 2007:  A. Kurz • Organization of the event, starting NOW:  JCT + GSI • Industry Forum
