  1. IS THE BIBLE RELEVANT TO OUR AGE? I Peter 1:22-23

  2. Our Arrogance • Jesus said – Matt. 24:35; John 12:48 • “Man has advanced in learning to the point where we don’t need the Bible as a crutch.” • “The Bible has failed to solve our problems.” • “In today’s world it is inadequate.”

  3. Some Things To Consider • God doesn’t change – James 1:17; Heb. 13:8. • Changes in times or society’s advancements don’t alter the nature of God. • The Bible was written, not to solve all our problems, but to reveal God to us and our relationship to Him.

  4. Truth Doesn’t Change • Physical truth or spiritual truth. • John 17:17; Psalm 119:89 • The truth may anger us. We may disagree with it. That doesn’t change it. • Only a fool fights truth. A battle we can’t win.

  5. Man Doesn’t Change • Do physical needs change? Food, water, security. • Do spiritual needs change? Only the Bible provides this need. • A Being worthy of worship. • Recipe for happiness – Matt. 5:1ff • Reason for living • Perfect rule for life • Remedy for sin • Comfort in trials

  6. Sin Doesn’t Change • No matter how much we’re drawn to it, it still destroys. • The consequences are still the same. Truth doesn’t establish this. It just reveals it. • Misery, unhappiness, death • Gal. 6:7-8 • Bible is the remedy – James 1:21
