  2. Torun • This is Torun. It looks great, doesn’t it? • I would like to tell you something about it. • This is the city where Mikołaj Kopernik lived. • There are a lot of great monuments • There are the best honey cakes called pierniki.

  3. Mikołaj Kopernik • The famous Polish astronomer lived and worked in Toruń. He developed the heliocentric planetary system and he wrote about it in his book ”On the Revolutions of the Celestial Orbs” • Today there is a museum in his house. I would like to tell you more about it on the next slajd. Well, maybe he wasn’t very handsome but he was very clever.

  4. Mikołaj Kopernik’s museum • So this is the house where Mikołaj Kopernik lived. Today you can visit it because it is a museum. There are a lot of interesting things which the famous astronomer used in his work. Believe it or not but most of them he made on his own and they are really great.

  5. CURVE TOWER • It isn’t true that curvetower is only in Piza in Italy. In Poland we also have our curve tower. It is in Torun. At the beginning it was straight but after years the sand under it slide down. Today it is really curve as you can see on this photo.

  6. Nice monuments • So now i want to tell you more about the old town in Torun. It is really superb. There are a lot of great monuments. One of them is… surprise, surprise! Kopernik’s monument of course ;) • I know that you can be a little bored with him but believe methat he was a really fantastic man.

  7. Today if you throw a coin to the flisak’s fontany your dream will come true. Flisak • It is a really sweet monument. There is a legend about it. Well, once upon the time there lived a young boatman in Toruń. He was a really nice boy I think ;) He could playon the violin very well. There was a time when there were too many frogs in Torun but the boatman (our great hero) save all people from them. He started playing on the violin and all the frogs run away ;) (the truth is that this smalls animals went after him and his beautiful music)

  8. Town Hall • On this slajd I would like to tell you something about one of the most famous building in Toruń. I think it is the Town Hall which gives Torun special atmosphere. There are always a lot of women who sell flower around it. There is also many restaurants and cafeterias over ther. When you come to Torun don’t misse it to admire its wonderful architecture.

  9. Pierniki • Pierniki are delicious honey cakes. They are the speciality of Toruń. They can have almost all shapes and they can look completely different but all of them are really tasty. One of the best souvenir from Torun are pierniki. There is only one problem with them- that you can’tstop eating them ;)\
