  1. Microwave Brownies EQUIPMENT MIXING BOWL MEASURING CUPS 8 x 8 MICROWAVABLE DISH Do not use the pastry blender!!! Each group member needs a number 1,2,3 or 4.

Lab instructions • Each group member must write the recipe. • Wash your hands!! • Put on an apron • Person 1 will get ingredients • You will use a plastic tray or a cookie sheet • Use a small glass bowl for each ingredient • Take all necessary measuring tools with you • Go solo!! • Person 2 wash dishes • Person 3 sweep floor and wipe counters • Person 4 will be the head chef and make sure the recipe is being followed and get towels • A blue towel to dry dishes • A white towel for the group to dry hands • A rag to wash the counters

  3. ½ Cup butter, softened 1 Cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla ½ Cup flour (measure this before the cocoa) ½ Cup cocoa 1 Tablespoon powdered sugar optional (to be used after brownies are cooked) Ingredients

  4. 1.Grease 8x8 microwave safe dish 2.UseKitchenaide or hand mixer to cream butter and sugar (remember to Soften your butter in the microwave) 3.Add eggs and vanilla, mix 4. Add flour, cocoa, mix for 2 min. 5.Use rubber scrapper to scoop batter into microwave safe dish 6.Microwave on high 5 to 7 min. 7.Let stand for 5 min to complete the cooking process. 8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar You may each measure 1 cup of milk to drink using the liquid measuring cup. Directions In order to be done by the end of class you must follow a timeline.   5. While your food is cooking • Clean your kitchen and wash all dishes!!! • Get out plates and utensils, prepare to eat at your table with your group members.

  6. When you are done eating • Put leftover food you want to take into sandwich baggies • Wash the dishes you ate off of and dish food was cooked in. Especially the glass dish. • Wash counters and all appliances used, including inside of microwave. • Wash tables • Sweep floor, brooms are next to the fridge • Put dirty aprons, dirty chefs jackets, towels, and rags in the dirty laundry basket next to the washing machine. • Put away your folder and sit quietly at your table • Last class, stack the chairs.
