Windsor Athletics • It is Extra-Curricular – An extension of our overall educational program • Student-Athletes should learn… • To be good citizen and teammate • Respect for others • Proper attitude • Self-Discipline
Athletic & Activity Eligibility To be eligible to participate in WHS Athletics... • Must be enrolled as a WHS student • Must have a current physical / permission form and concussion form on file in the Athletic Office • Must have proof of insurance on file in the Athletic Office • Must be currently enrolled in and have passed 6 of 7 classes the prior semester
Code of Conduct WHS Student-Athletes are responsible for representing themselves, their families and the Windsor School District in a positive manner at all times. With that in mind, we have adopted a Code of Conduct that includes Training Rules, Citizenship and Attendance Requirements for all Student-Athletes.
Training Rules • No Tobacco • No Alcohol • No Drugs These rules apply to Student-Athletes during their athletic seasons, 24 hours per day, both at school and away from school.
Citizenship Requirements • Abide by all school rules, board policies, MSHSAA rules and team rules • Attend all team practices and meetings • Shall not violate Municipal, County, State or Federal laws • OSS / ISS = No practice or games • ASD takes precedence over practice • Unsportsmanlike may result is sitting • Cannot be a discredit to school or community
Attendance Requirements • Must attend at least 4 classes to be eligible to participate in games that day • If transportation is provided, student must ride unless pre-approved via Travel Release Form
Parent / Coach Communication • All concerns should be brought to the coach • Appropriate vs. Inappropriate Concerns • Parent / Coach Conferences
Setting the Example • In order to teach our Student-Athletes the right way to conduct themselves we, as both parents and educators, need to set an example of how to act and react in all situations. • Let the players play, the coaches coach and the officials officiate.
