Icebreak is an early intervention service aimed at young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of developing a personality disorder. We provide support, coping strategies, and access to appropriate services to help them live healthy, secure lives.   2. What is Icebreak? An early intervention service for young people (16-25 years) experiencing, or considered ‘at risk’ of developing, a personality disorder.

  3. A service for young people… • With damaging patterns of behaviour • With significant feelings of exclusion, detachment or not belonging • With a desire to explore positive coping strategies • Registered with GP in Plymouth & surrounding area • With no current or previous long term involvement with adult mental health services • With a diagnosis of personality disorder

Aims of Icebreak • Support young people to live healthy secure lives • Reduce inappropriate use of services • Reduce admissions to acute MH, prison and forensic settings • Reduce levels of suicide and self-harm • Improve access to appropriate services • Support families and dependants of people with PD • Increase levels of social inclusion • De-mystify the diagnosis of PD

  5. The Team Multi-disciplinary • Project Lead • 6 Care Co-ordinators • Welfare rights worker • Administrator • External team support - Clinical Lead - GP with special interest in MH - 2 Psychotherapists
