  3. General informations Bucharest is the capital municipality, cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents as early as 1459.

  4. General informations Eclecticarchitecture, wichforms a mix of historical and modern buildings, reflects the history of the city in the interwar period. The city was thennamed „Small Paris” (Micul Paris).

  5. Climate Bucharesthas a tranitionalclimate with bothcontinental and subtropicalinfluences. The city’swinterscanget windy. Winter temperatureoften dip below 0 C. sometimeseven to -20 C. In summer the averagetemperatureis 23 C. Temperaturessometimesreach 35 to 40 C in mid-summer in the citycentre.

  9. Accomodation In Bucharestyoucanfind a lot of differentforms of accomodation Hotels – pricesvary from 45 to 150 euros per night. YouthHostels- the price for a roomisisabout 15 euros per night Camping - Bucharestoffersalso camping sites for familys. The costisabout 30 euros per day.

  10. Cuisine In general, Romaniancuisineistasty but isoftencritisized for usingtoo much oil, salt and sausages. In Bucharestyoucaneasilyfindrestaurantsthatmatchyourlikes.

  11. Popular dishes Chiftele- arelargemetballs in flourorbreadcrumbatter with addedgarlic, dill and parsley. Mititei – are small grilledmeatchops with a lot of garlic, cumin and pepper.

  12. Popular dishes Sarmale- is a dishthatreminds the Piolishdish- gołąbki, theyaremade with pork and rice. Zacusca– is a saucemade out of aubergines, cucurbittomatoes, onions, mushrooms and pepper. Romaniansofteneatit with bread.

  13. Popular dishes Ciorba de burtă- is a pupular soup.Made out of vegetables and meatorfish. Youcan order it with pasta orrice. Saramura–is a saltygrilledcarp.

  14. Desserts Cozonac - is a type of bread with addedvannillaor rum. Baklava– is a dessertmade out of thinpastery with addednuts. It alsocontainssugarorhoney.
