  3. Changes to scheduling for 2008 and beyond • Starting this CY, all CDBI inspections are triennial • Reason for the change • Other inspections affected in this change

  4. Changes to IP 71111.21 for 2008 • Current Revision date: 01/31/08 • Draft version out for review • Major changes are: (1) provide flexibility in selection of samples in categories of components, operator actions, and operating experience; (2) generally preclude re-inspection of items previously inspected by SSDPCs and CDBIs.; and (3) perform CDBIs on a triennial cycle.

  5. Overview on Implementation The sample selection is based on a risk-informed and low margin approach to identify the highly risk-significant components and operator actions at the facility. High Risk items Low Margin items

  6. Recent issues (OE and IN 2008-02) • Repeated violations on same issues (OE) • Information Notice 2008-02 • Safety Culture changes (RIS-2006-13)

  7. Summary To have a successful CDB Inspection: • Review the IP and plan accordingly • Have a strong Design Margin program • Have a strong Corrective Action program • Review OE and implement as necessary
