  1. SENTENCE FRAGMENT잘못된 문장 잘못된 문장에는, 동사 가 없다. 주사가 없다. And 나 but 이 문장 시작에 있다. 종속접속사로 문장이 시작 된다.

  3. 만약 clause(절)이이것들중하나로시작하면그절은 dependent clause(종속절) 이고, 그러므로반드시같은문장안에impendent clause (주절)이있어야합니다. 중요한것은종속절은위단어들로시작할수있지만그럴경우즉,종속절이주절앞에올경우에는반드시종속절뒤에  comma(,) 를씁니다.

  4. 예문:      1.subject            I ate an apple.    (O)            ate an apple.      (x) ---주어가 없네요 .(sentence fragment)      2.verb            I ate an apple.     (O)            I an apple.          (X) --- 동사가 없습니다.      3. and or but           And I ate an apple.  (X)           I ate an apple.       (O)           I ate lunch, and I ate an apple. (O) 이런경우와 같이,and 또는 ,but는 가능.

  5. 정 and 나 but의 어감을 원한다면 대신 이런 단어들을 쓰실수 있습니다. 즉 , 문두에 사용될 수 있는 말들입니다.            And----Also,            But---- However,            So ---- Therefore, 여기서 주의할것은 반드시 comma 를 찍어준다는 것입니다. 몇가지 더살펴보면           In addition(to that),            Furthermore,            Even so,            Because of this,  등이 있습니다.

  6. 4. 종속절          Because I was hungry.   (X)           Because I was hungry, I went to a restaurant.(O)         =  I went to a restaurant because I was hungry. (O)           So I went to a restaurant. (X)--          I was hungry, so I went to a restaurant.(O)--        ----종속절(dependent clause)은 반드시 한문장 안에 주절(Independent                  clause) 가 있어야 함.
