Agenda • Role Call • Agenda Review • Program Overview • Brief SAIF project introductions • SAIF Book (ArB) • SAIF IG (MnM) • SAIF Pilot Coordination (Project Services) • HL7 Product Quality Plan (TSC) • Composite Order Project (OO) • Behavioral Model Project (OO) • What projects are still needed for standing up SAIF • CDA (representing document paradigm) • Cross Model Consistency • Mission & Charter - team to create draft • Meeting logistics – frequency of calls, date/time of calls

Program Overview • Implement SAIF within the HL7 Organization • Goals: • Coordinate projects necessary to launch SAIF • Exercise SAIF via one or more projects developing standards • Over time, expand use of SAIF to a broader set of HL7 standards • Long term goal of SAIF being the normal way of developing HL7 standards

  4. Strategic Initiatives • SAIF Architecture Program is a key component in how the TSC will address many HL7 Strategic Initiatives • Successful HL7 implementation of the SAIF goes to the heart of most if not all the high level strategic initiatives

  5. SAIF Architected Brand • Standards developed under this brand will be required to follow the methodology, processes, precepts defined in the SAIF IG • We don’t know for sure what those requirements are because one of the first things the program needs to do is develop the SAIF IG • Need a logo!

  6. SAIF Governance • Quality – develop high quality products • Quality Review Board (QRB) • Modeling consistency - Use of standard design patterns will be mandatory – More than just the RIM • Modeling Review Board (MRB) • Design Pattern Harmonization • Other governance TBD

  7. SAIF Program/Project Management • Speed the development of strategic projects through the application of strategic resources • Manage staffing requirements (volunteer as well as paid) • Manage other resource requirements such as tooling, hardware, etc.

  9. What projects are missing? • Cross Model Consistency • CDA (representing document paradigm) Conduct a review of existing projects to see what needs to be brought in under the SAIF Architecture Program

  10. Next Steps • Develop a Mission & Charter • Conduct a review of existing HL7 projects to identify additional candidate projects Meeting Logistics – frequency and timing of calls
