Trip Highlights

  5. The final price of the trip depends on the number of students who participate. The more students who come, the fuller the buses, the lower the cost. Families will be notified of the final cost by November 7, 2014. The price range is currently between $850.00 and $950.00 • Trip price includes: • 4 star centrally located hotels (4 students per room) • Luxury coaches • 1 tour director per bus. Guides participate in all events and activities and are available for emergencies 24 hours a day (guides stay with the school group in the hotel) • All activities/admissions/fees on the itinerary • Evening Security (11:00pm to 6:00am each night of the trip) • All breakfasts, 4 suppers Trip Cost

  6. Students will need to have money to purchase: • Supper on the road on Tuesday (they can bring a packed lunch on the bus) • Lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday • Lunch and supper on the road home on Sunday • Any souvenirs they wish to purchase What students will need money for…

  7. We currently have three buses reserved for the trip, which means we have 150 trip spots for students. If interest exceeds 150, we will look at adding a forth bus, if this is realistic. A “commitment” form will be sent home with students on Monday, October 27 that will be used to determine the number of participants. On November 7, the final cost of the trip will be determined. Initial deposits of $300.00 will be accepted beginning November 9. Cheques can be made payable to Rocky Lake Junior High. A second deposit ($300.00) will be due in February, with the balance due the beginning of April. Other Notes

  8. Additional student meetings will take place closer to the trip date (room assignments, final itinerary, expectations), and consent and medical forms will be sent home in the Spring. Information will be communicated to parents via email and the trip website • There is a one to ten teacher to student chaperone ratio. Chaperones will be school staff. Parents will have my contact information prior to the trip in the event of an emergency during the trip. Other Notes

  9. All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. We send deposits directly to the tour provider (Bon Vivant Educational Tours), so funds are not kept in a school account. The price of the trip is directly related to the number of participants, so fluctuations in participants causes the price to change as well. If your student is no longer able to participate, we will do our best to fill their spot on the trip with another student, at which point we can return any payments. If we are unable to fill that spot, a refund will not be possible. Note About Refunds

  10. Any questions or concerns throughout the planning process can be directed to Robin Snow at rsnow@hrsb.ca, or at 902 832 8952 extension 7081213. All information will be posted on the school website (there is a grade 9 trip tab on the school home page). I will tweet reminders and any new information as well, using my teacher Twitter account (@MsSnow9RLJH). All communication will be emailed home using the contact information provided on the “commitment” form. Questions or Concerns?
