The student will be able to INVESTIGATE THE 13 COLONIES IN RESPECT TO LOCATION, ECONOMY, AND REASON FOR FOUNDING • According to our objective what unit learning goal are we working toward mastery of? • What is mastery? • Update TOC to include: • Pg. 12 Plymouth Comic Strip and Summary 8/28 • Pg. 13 Colonial regions chart and map 8/29 Learning goal scale

  3. Today you will be investigating the 13 colonies in respect to their location, founder, date of foundation, reason for founding and also what resources are available to each colony. You will be documenting your findings using map skills and also recording your findings using a chart.

  4. 1. Identify which colonies make up the three regions (New England, Middle, Southern) using pg. 88 • 2. Color each region a different color to clearly differentiate the colonial regions on your map • 3. Create a key on your map to show the different regions • 4. On page 13 of your notebook create a chart that shows each colony, founding date, their leader(S), the reason for founding, and two available resources (pgs. 86, 80, and 74) Investigation steps

  5. Chart your progress for goals B, C, D, and E • Are you reaching mastery? • If not, what can you do differently in order to do so. • **Remember tests and EOC’s are written at mastery level and ABOVE Ticket out: Student progress chart
