  2. Unit Plan Summary • Some students are not familiar with some software-applications and terms in technology which are necessary to function in today’s world. Students need to be familiar with all the features of the programs to enhance their learning and developing 21st century skills. The 6th grade classes will create a Power Point Presentation and post it in Wiki Spaces to understand both how and why media message are constructed, and for what purposes.

  3. Essential Question • How is technology affecting our learning? • How should technology be used?

  4. Unit Questions • How can I use technology to teach others? • How can I use technology to share a message? Content Questions • How to create a Power Point Presentation? • What are the tech. terms/tools that I need to learn? • How to access and use web-tools (wiki, blogs)?

  5. Benefits of Using Project Approaches, Ongoing Assessment and CFQ’s in My Unit • Engage students in investigation of real life problems in a collaborative manners. • Technology helps students to have control of their own learning. • Use of web applications help the students to acquire the 21st century skills • Use of technology support students and teachers as they work on projects.

  6. By using Project Approaches, Ongoing Assessment and CFQ’s in My Unit • Help my student to learn how to assess themselves and their peers. • Help my students to realize what technology skills need to be improved. • To be aware of what are the expectations of their work.

  7. Gauging Student Needs Assessment I will use my essential and unit questions: • To help my learners to focus on task. • To guide my learners to use the appropriate technology tools. • To help my learners to work cooperatively with their peers using technology. • To learn and acquire the 21st century technology skills.

  8. Gauging Student needs Assessment • What I will learn from the assessment: How can I help my learners to reach their potential. If my learner is struggling using any application. What technology skills need to be addressed or improved. • What my students will gain from assessment: Be aware of their strength and weakness. Be an active participant on their own evaluation and achievement.

  9. My goals • Help my learners to use the appropriate technology tools with purpose. • Learn new web-tools to help my students to reach 21st Century technology skills. • Collaborate with classroom teachers to work on their projects.
