  5. IT Problems and Issues A chance to discuss any IT problems

  6. Discussion Board. • An electronic message area. • You have to login to see messages. • Most bulletin/discussion boards serve specific interest groups. • Review messages left by others, and leave your own message.

  7. Rules for discussion boards • Messages should include a Hi & Goodbye. • Messages should include your name. • Messages to be kept fairly short(max 300 words). • Smiley’s are ok but text type language such as LOL, HTH, BTW M8 should be avoided unless explained. • Use plain English avoid techno jargon   • Typing in capitals is SHOUTING and should be avoided. • Keep messages polite • No swearing. • login to the VLE once a day to read latest messages.

VLE activity • Participating in a online chat seminar • Seminar rules: • IJC will chair/facilitate the seminar. • Type a question mark “?” If you want to make a comment or ask a question. • Type in short sentences using ...... If you wish to continue. • We will discuss what you think of the course so far..

Homework • Search for The Course Handbook on the VLE or Student Intranet. • E-mail me with the following details: • What is the name, phone number and e-mail address of the Student Records and Bursaries Manager. • This information is in the Core Handbook on page 3 • Please complete this work by 24th Oct 08
