MISSION The Navy (as part of the Armed Forces) supports the activities of the state and local authorities in protection of the population, our economy and the critical infrastructure with appointed and prepared units. MISSION : CONTRIBUTION TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY IN PEACETIME
NAVY TASKS • Control of the national maritime spaces. • Support to the state and local authorities for the protection of the population, economy and the infrastructure during non-military crises and consequence management. • Participation in the defence of strategic coastal and maritime infrastructure. • Participation in countering the organised crime and the traffic of drugs, people and weapons. • Participation in SAR operations at sea, humanitarian and evacuation operations.

CONCLUSION A successful Crisis and Disaster Response operation depends on the level of the interagency cooperation among all parties involved, in order to achieve better effectiveness of the integrated rescue system in our country. Thanks to the gained experience and knowledge throughout the years the Bulgarian Navy will continue to play an active role in this process
