  2. Where did Football originate from • Football originated in Ancient China. This type of football was not the same type of football we play today. They mixed basketball and football together which was shooting a ball of yarn into a hoop.

  3. Who made up the first organized set of rules for football? Why did they do this? • The football we play today was created in England. The rules had been changed for shooting the ball to a hoop to shooting it in a goal. • Although some of the rules are different like: • Touching the ball with hands. • Size of pitch Line rules (such as outs, offside's)

  4. How many countries play Football as their national sport? • Football is a national sport in over 60 nations. to sum it regionally: South America Western Europe (all countries ranging form Norway down to Greece). Most people will argue that the majority of countries east of Germany (eastern europe) regard Ice Hockey as their national sport over football, even though football still draws a huge following in those countries. South East Asia (Countries ranging from Indonesia to the Thailand and Cambodia are not particularly strong in football, but it is watched and followed religiously in this part of the world). Middle East (countries like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq etc all play soccer as their national sport) African Nations: Almost all African nations excluding South Africa have football as their national game. Countries where soccer is NOT the national game but often mistaken to be; Mexico (apparently baseball is top) Japan (baseball) Cuba (baseball again) India (Cricket) Pakistan (Cricket) Sri Lanka (Cricket) West Indies (Cricket) Carribean (cricket) South Africa (Rugby and Cricket) Canada (hockey)

  5. Why do you think Football has become so popular around the world? . Football can be played without a special kit, and both med and woman can play it. Players get a lot of money if they play in the world cup. The world cup is one of the most popular game in the world which brings joy and peace within the countries and can be seen on tv.

  6. Do you think there are different ways of playing, or styles, of Football in different areas around the world? Explain your answer using terms • Different countries play with different strategies for example; 4, 4, 2 or 5, 3, 2 (italy) • This is how Italy: The Italians are good in defense and attack, there defense is one of the best in the world • Brazil: The Brazilians have one of the best passing in the world, especially their shots.
