THE CROWD SHOUTED AT HIS ENTRANCE • Luke 19:37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, • :38)saying: " 'BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"
JESUS THE MAN • They had experienced-- EXCITEMENT JESUS THE MESSENGER • They had experienced-- ENLIGHTENMENT JESUS THE MESSIAH • They had experienced – EXPECTATION
Zec9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
THE CROWD SHOUTED AT HIS EXAMINATION • John 19:14 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, "Behold your King!" • 15) But they cried out, "Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your King?"
WHY THE SUDDEN CHANGE? • They considered Him an Imposter He did not overthrow Rome They considered Him an Instigator He defied their Rulers They considered Him an Intruder He spoke against their Religion
