  1. Multimedia Reflection Meghann Bartsch EDIT 202

  2. @Week 1 Slow and steady with 1 tweet, 21 groups to follow, and no followers so far!

  3. #FeaturedFeed • Mission statement: “The Alberta Teachers’ Association, as the professional organization of teacher, promotes and advances public education, safeguards standards of professional practice and serves as the advocate for its members” (The Alberta Teachers' Association, 2010) • Because I am likely to become a member of the ATA once I enter into the professional world I think that it is crucial for me to start keeping up-to-date with the concerns, updates, and history of the association. By staying informed through the ATA, my professional development as an educator will be supported because it will be easier for me to transition into the workforce when the time comes. @albertateachers

  4. @Week 2 Starting to warm up with 5 tweets, 27 groups to follow, and 18 followers!

  5. #FeaturedFeed @NatGeoEducation I chose to follow National Geographic’s Educational page because they provide “free, high quality educational content and materials that encourage exploration, discovery and awe” (National Geographic Education, 2013) –three things which I hope to inspire in my future science students. This site provides lesson plans, activities, fun factoids and videos, all of which will help my professional development by not only providing me with resources, but also ideas about how to make my teaching and lessons more engaging and productive.

  6. @Week 3 Now we’re talkin’: 16 tweets, 27 groups to follow, and 20 followers!

  7. #FeaturedFeed I have chosen to include 8 featured feeds into this slide because they are all related: The New York Times, The OED, Great Minds Quotes, Writer’s Digest, Tor Books, Jon Winokur, Oxford Academic and Classics, and The British Library. I hope to teach English and I believe that it is imperative that I be constantly reading, writing, and developing my knowledge within this field. Lifetime learning of the English language will fuel my professional development by supporting the content aspect of my work in education.

  8. @Week 4 Final count: 27 tweets, 36 groups to follow, and 28 followers! And this is only the beginning…

  9. @mmbartsc #PLNconnections As I am new to the concept of the PLN, most of my contributions to the networks have been in the way of connecting to, following, and learning from other professionals or organizations relating to the field of education. I have also tried to make my own contributions to the network by retweeting or posting information relevant to the field which I hope will interest those connected with me. As far as interactions and participations in things such as chats, I have participated in almost all chats that occur during EDIT lecture time as a way to connect to and grow with my fellow students and professors. As for the future: I am hoping to participate in my first Google Hangout chat session with the Discovery Education community on February 13th, 2013- wish me luck!
