  2. White Space Margins Provide enough white space around the edges for holding the page, binding the page, and a few jotted notes: Left—1-1 ½ inches Right—3/4-1 inch Top—1-1 ½ inches Bottom—1 inch

  3. White Space Between Sections Provide some white space between the major sections of your report for a visual “break”. Around Images Create a white “frame” around the images within text.

  4. Fonts Do not use more than two types of fonts in a single document. Examples San Serif: Arial, Helvetica,Tahoma Serif: Times, Bookman, Courier

  5. Fonts Use a serif type font for the text Use a san serif type font for headings and upper level subheads

  6. Fonts Sizes Do not use font sizes smaller than 10 point or larger than 14 point for text Recommended: 12 point Times Do not use font sizes larger than 20 point for headings Instead, use bolding to raise heading levels
