  1. PS2 Design Report

  2. Preparation of PS2 CDR • CERN yellow report as template • One person responsible per chapter – see list • Aim to send chapters until 30th September 2010 to Michael and Wolfgang • Meeting to discuss how detailed the subjects should be described - to be announced PS2 CDR Templates - W. Bartmann, M. Benedikt PS2 Meeting, 1-July 2010

  3. People in charge… • Introduction • Optics, beam dynamics and operation aspects • Technical Systems • Site aspects, buildings and technical infrastructure PS2 CDR Templates - W. Bartmann, M. Benedikt PS2 Meeting, 1-July 2010

  4. People in charge… • Introduction • Optics, beam dynamics and operation aspects • Technical Systems • Site aspects, buildings and technical infrastructure PS2 CDR Templates - W. Bartmann, M. Benedikt PS2 Meeting, 1-July 2010

  5. More Details… • Rough guidance: 15 pg. per section • since we have 4 topics I expect our section to be longer (others will be shorter). • “if you did it, write it up!” • iPAC papers should be a good start. • Some overlap between our and CERN’s contributions • e-cloud (Rumolo, Furman): • Miguel already combined work for iPAC • Vacuum (Bane, Mahner, Rumolo) • still need to consolidate • for now, we should write our work.

  6. Mechanics… • LaTeX source, using cernyrep.cls style. • I have put an archive of cernrep.cls + the supporting styles onto Indico. • put into “TeX/Inputs/LaTeX/” folder or with source. • (may have to increase TeX’s “pool” => local guru) • \chapter{Beam stability & collective effects} • \section{Space charge} • \section{Impedance} • …etc. • BibTeX bibliography format. • If you don’t know BibTeX, I will convert your bibliography • If you do, use the CDS citation if available. • Figures in eps format (but I can convert them) • Note: CERN uses British spelling!

  7. Time line • Sept. 30: drafts due to Wolfgang Bartmann • Sept. 17 (Friday): drafts due to me • I put them together • first completeness & consistency check • fix figures where needed • combine references into .bib file. • Asap: subsection headings due to me • used for internal discussions & planning • The report needs to be done-done by begin of the winter break. • I’d like our section to be ≈done when I return to SLAC (mid-November).
