  2. Where is Split? Split is in the small country called Croatia. It is the seat of Split-Dalmatia County, the largest Dalmatian city and the second-largest urban centre in Croatia. The city is located on the shore of the Adriatic Sea, spreading over a central peninsula and its surroundings.

  3. Sights Diocletian's Palace is a building that was built by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century.Diocletian built the massive palace in preparation for his retirement.

  4. The statue of Gregory of Nin by Ivan Meštrović in Split is a heavily trafficked tourist site in the town, which the toe of the statue shows. Rubbing the statue's toe is said to bring good luck. The toe has been worn smooth and shiny as a result.

  5. Split has a beautiful waterfront promenade, where everyone can enjoy the charms of the Adriatic Sea.

  6. The Cathedral of St. Dujeis the Catholiccathedral of Split. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and the bell tower to Saint Duje. Together they form the Cathedral of St. Duje.
