  1. By just the smell of the kitchen, I can tell who was there cooking for lunch. So I ran inside the house after my school service dropped me at the gate of our residence. Nothing can spoil my day since then, and I was the happiest lad in the world. On weekends, I have more freedom to be on my own because someone was there to fight for my "rights." And I could roam around the village in a carefree way. At times, I reserved my wish list for moments like this. Going shopping with my grandparents meant that I could buy anything I wanted. Yes, my grandparents spoiled me as a child, but it didn't turn me into a brat. Instead, I became like them – lawyer. I practiced corporate law because of the influence of my grandfather. And I loved cooking just like my grandmother. I cared about them more than anyone in this world. But when they started to age, city life was no longer convenient for them. It Non-medical was better that they relocated to the countryside, the childhood place of my mother. But then, not a single day would pass without checking on them. A simple text message or phone call would suffice to overcome missing them both. But I would go further to a video call during weekends and watched them fishing at the lake or barbecuing in the backyard. One day, I can sense that something was no good for my grandfather. He wasn't attentive to me while I talked at the phone and later threw tantrums shouting at the neighbor. I spoke to my mom, and she immediately checked on them. My grandmother was fine, but my grandfather has dementia. They brought him to doctors, but the disorder continued. I felt sad my loving and warm grandfather has to suffer this way in his old age. But my guilt of not being available to take care of him was worse. So I signed up We Help Seniors for their services that were helpful for my family.
