  13. My friend: November 2nd Thursday Windy Kitty, one of my classmates, is ill again. I think that her poor health has something to do with her bad habits. For example, she seldom eat on times. She likes eating food rich in fat but doesn’t like eating fruit and

  14. vegetables. She doesn’t do any exercise. Besides, she is always studying late into the night late, yet she has to get up early to go to school in the next morning. So she seldom gets enough rest. As is known, early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise. I should learn a lesson from her and try to form good habits and keep healthy.

  17. The Third Part: Comprehension

  18. Grammar: 1. Simple sentence: (1) Simple sentence includes only a subject- predicate structure of sentences. (2) E.g. I know nothing about it. E.g. We have made great progress in the past two years. E.g. I like the novel “Gone With The Wind” very much.

  19. 2. Compound sentence: (1) By a coordinating conjunction or other means to connect two simple sentences together, in this way, a compound sentence formed. (2) E.g. The bus was very crowed, but we managed to get in. E.g. The sun is shining brightly and the sky is blue.

  20. 3. Complex sentence: Some sentences have one main clause and one or more other clause that add more details to the main clause. These kinds of sentences are called complex sentences. (1) Complex sentence always contains two or more subject-predicate structure.

  21. (2) E.g. He realized that he got lost. E.g. The woman who dresses in a red coat is a famous star. E.g. When I got home, my little sister had gone out. E.g. The point was that we didn’t know how to solve the problem.

  22. 4. Diary format English diary usually consists of two parts, one part is used to state the date and weather conditions, the other part is the body of the dairy. Attention: (1)Diaries are always written in first person. (2)Diary verb tenses are mostly past tense. (3)Style to colloquial.
