Cutting-Edge Thin Solenoid Magnets for Cryostats and Balloon-Borne Experiments

Explore the 1m x 1m thin solenoids with 1 Tesla field at KEK/IPNS, ideal for cryo-cooling and experimental launches. These solenoid magnets are designed with LHe reservoir tanks, radiation shields, and vacuum vessels. Discover automatic operation features like precooling, LHe refill, and magnet charge/discharge. Get insights into the latest advancements in thin solenoid technology at KEK/IPNS.

  2. Introduction • There are 2 available thin solenoid magnets in KEK/IPNS. • Both of them consists of a thin coil, LHe reservoir tank, radiation shield and honeycomb outer vacuum vessel. • Both of them has developed for balloon borne experiment. • There is one available thin coil, which is planning to be install into a cryo-cooler cooled cryostat.
