Antoni Gaudi. Childhood. Gaudi was born on the 25 th of June 1852 to Francesc Gaudi i Serra and Antònia Cornet i Bertran . He grew up in Ruidoms with his 2 sisters, Rosa and Fransesc. The Gaudi family originally had 5 children but 2 of them did not make it to adulthood.

  2. Childhood • Gaudi was born on the 25th of June 1852 to Francesc Gaudi i Serra and Antònia Cornet i Bertran . He grew up in Ruidoms with his 2 sisters, Rosa and Fransesc. • The Gaudi family originally had 5 children but 2 of them did not make it to adulthood. • Gaudi attended Piarists school in where he showed artistic skills. The Gaudi family home

  3. How he became an architect? • In 1876 when his mother and brother died he started to study architecture at Llotja School and the Barcelona Higher School of Architecture. • To earn the money he needed for his education he worked for a number of artists as a draughtsman, drawing sketches of buildings and 3d models.

  4. Where did he get his inspiration from? • Gaudi got his inspiration from not only nature but constructions that he saw around him. • Unlike most he did not like to draw up plans of his ideas but make 3d models of them.
