  2. Fundraising Policy • All fundraising initiatives (with/out SOF Grant funding) must be approved by the Director of Student Activities, who may seek further review from other University Entities • Student Organizations may request funding for fundraisers. SOF Committee only grants funds to start up fundraiser. Student Organizations must repay these start up costs within two weeks after the fundraiser.

  3. Funds must be repaid as follows: • The SOF Committee may negotiate a repayment between 50% and 100% of the funds awarded. This stipulation shall be noted at the time of granting the award • All self-generated funds by Student Organization shall remain in that Student Organization’s self-generated account and shall be carried forward to future fiscal years • All funds generated through any Student Organization fundraising effort must be deposited into the Student Organization’s University account by the following business day. • Any Student Organization that does not comply with these parameters will be subject to judicial sanctions

Bake Sale: Set up a baked good stand on campus to raise funds for your organization A Attribute to your Community: There are ways to become involved in your community for monetary gain (discussed later) B Dinner: Student organizations can think of a creative dinner to put on and/or even invite a guest speaker. Charge an admission fee and you’re good to go. C Car Wash: Student organizations can either wash cars themselves or collaborate with car wash companies. D

  6. Fashion Show: Student organizations can put on a fashion show. It can be open to models at CSU-Pueblo or your own student org. Add a twist or theme. E Eating Contest: Student organizations can host a hot dog eating contest on campus. Or maybe even a cup of noodles competition. The winner receives half of the profit. F G Head Shave: Generate revenue by having people donate money to have someone shave their head. Garage Sale: How about putting on a good old fashioned garage sale? Host it at the school and watch the money flow in. H

  7. Junk Food Challenge: Stop eating junk food for a full week. Have a competition to see who looses the most weight. Charge a fee and give the winner half. I Ice Cream: Team up with Cold Stone and see if they will be willing to donate money. Then charge a discounted fee for the ice cream. Yummy! J K Love From Home Packages: Student organizations can create home packages. Parents can then request the basket be sent to their college student. Kiss A Pig: Offer your members of student organizations to be raffled off to kiss a pig. Whoever the students give the most money to gets to kiss a pig! Yes! L

  8. No Dirty Dishes For A Week: Student organizations can ask local restaurants to donate food items that can be sold at a discounted price. M Musical Chair Madness: Conduct a musical chair event for students on campus participate in for a fun stress relief from studying N O Popcorn: Help the concession stand at sporting events and earn money. You can receive 10% of the profit that night. Obstacle Course: Create an obstacle course for high school students to compete in. Charge an entrance fee and it will be a blast! P

  9. Raffle: Set up a 50/50 raffle through OSA for you student organization. Note: this event can be time encompassing Q Questions: Ask a member of the campus population to participate. They then have to answer every question they are ask. Charge per question. R S Treasure Hunt: Create a treasure hunt for students to participate in. They then can win various prizes. “Slang” Bee: Hold a spelling bee with a twist. They have to spell slang words. T

  10. Valentine’s Day Cards: Have pre-made candy-o-grams and offer to deliver them to students during Valentines Day. U University Challenge: Hold a challenge for the whole University to compete in. Charge an entrance fee. V W X-Mas Cards: Same concept as the Valentine’s Days Cards but Christmas kind. Wristbands: Create a CSU-Pueblo themed wristband and sell them at sporting events. X

  11. Y Zodiac Evening: Ask a palm reader to come on campus. Charge a minimal price to see the future. Yoyo Competition: Remember when everyone used to do tricks with the yo-yo, hold a mini competition. Z

  12. Fundraising Strategies to Contribute to your Community • Talk to businesses and organizations in the community. There can be opportunities available in Pueblo that your organization can help with for to benefit .

Things to Consider When Planning your Fundraiser • Help from other Student Organizations • Even though you may have to split the profits, you will still increase the size, popularity, and income of your fundraiser by working in conjunction with another student organization on campus. • Donations • Set up a sponsorship for your fundraising event. This can help maximize your profits and spread your name in the community. Businesses are often more than willing to help non-profit organizations as it advertises their company name. • Write a formal letter addressed to the business and hand deliver it to them. Make sure to dress in proper attire (preferably with your student organization’s apparel or something with CSU-Pueblo on it) • Ask them for their logo, business cards, and/or other items they would like to have advertised. You can place their logo on your advertisement and at provide their information at your fundraising event. • Send a thank you card to the business after your have finished your fundraiser
