  3. What Made Isaiah special? Isaiah 6:1-5 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;the whole earth is full of his glory!” 4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!” Humility

  4. Humility is attractive for… Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. Proverbs 3:34 Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. James 4:6 …God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, (To be exalted of God)

  5. What Made Isaiah special? Isaiah 6:8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Willingness

  6. Isaiah 6:8-12 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” 9 And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’10 Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes;lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” 11 Then I said, “How long, O Lord?” And he said: “Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste, 12 and the LORD removes people far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.

  7. The Lord Asks us… 1 Corinthians 11:24-25 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” … to remember HIM

  8. The Lord Asks us… 1 Peter 2:12, 21 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. …For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. … to keep behavior excellent, follow example

  9. The Lord Asks us… 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  … to glorify God

  10. The Lord Asks us… Philippians 3:17 Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. … to follow the apostle’s “walk”

  11. What Made Isaiah special? Isaiah 6:9-10 And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’10 Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes;lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” persistent

In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy. Boldness with one another

  14. Boldness should be our aim also Acts 28:31 …proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance. Boldness in trying circumstances 1 Thessalonians 2:2 But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.. Boldness in conflict

  15. What Made Isaiah special? Vision - he was a prophet after all Our hearts can “see” also - Ephesians 1:18-19 …having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might • The end of our hope • What value your Father places on you • His power toward you…

  16. Traditionally, Isaiah WAS the man of Hebrews 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated… Traditionally Isaiah was martyred by Manasseh by being sawn in half with a wooden saw Was it worth it?
