SESB Review of Process • Selection of Engagements and Speakers • Speaking engagements • Requesting a speaker at an event: • Requestors will contact SA Staff (Program Manager, IEEE-SA Governance) • SA Staff will add request to be placed on the upcoming SEC agenda for consideration and approval • Evaluation and assessment of potential speaking engagements • The SEC would be presented with potential opportunities for discussion and assessment of all speaking engagements. • Quarterly, the SA will provide an assessment of the budget and engagements at the June teleconference • Approval of speaking engagement will be determined by SEC • SA Staff will notify requestor if engagement was approved/disapproved • Coordination between speaker/requester will be conducted by SA Staff

  3. SESB Speaking Engagement Venue Approval • 28 March – Sam Sciacca was the guest speaker on Smart Grid Standardization at the Denmark Section. This was approved in 2011. • 15 June – Request for approval for Moni Islam to be the guest speaker on Shipboard Electrical Systems at the IEEE Chapter Distinguished Speaker Event in Halifax, Nova-Scotia, Canada. • 31 August – Request for approval for MouliChandramouli to be the speaker on Cognitive Radio at the Southeast Symposium on Contemporary Engineering in New Orleans, LA. • 19-20 October – Request for approval for Tom Prevost to be the speaker at the Smart Grid for Practitioners with the Advanced Energy Conference in Buffalo, NY

  4. SESB Speaking Engagement Venue Approval • October – Delhi Technological University – 3 speakers are requested, but not all from the U.S. • Request for approval for SatishAggarwal to be one of the speakers supported by the SESB.
