Why United Way? • Impact: helping 1 out of every 3 people in our community • Efficient:nearly 90 cents of every dollar you give goes to help people in our community • Local: the money that’s raised here, stays here, helping people in Blue Earth, Nicollet & Le Sueur counties • Volunteer-based: your money is allocated by trained community volunteers like you

  5. 2014 Campaign • Show United Way 2014 Campaign Video & • Invite a United Way representative or Agency Speaker to share 1st hand the impact – call the United Way office at 345-4551 to schedule. Speakers are encouraged to speak 5-10 minutes.

  6. 2014 Initiative: Caregiving • The number of Minnesotans over the age of 65 will double by the year 2030. • With an increasingly aging population, it is essential that quality programs exist to enable our community to continue to thrive. • 1 in 5 people are currently caring for an older adult in their life.

  7. 2014 Initiative: Caregiving United Way’s Caregiving Initiative funds the following programs which have significant impact in our community each year. • VINE Faith in Action connects more than 1,700 older adults that are helped by over 600 caring volunteers. • Nicollet County Senior Transportation joins over 30 volunteers who provide more than 130 client rides to needed services. • MRCI’s EASE program enables 40 retirees with disabilities to participate in social, educational and recreational activities.

  8. 2014 Initiative: Caregiving United Way’s Caregiving Initiative is about: • Raising awareness to the needs of a growing agingpopulation, • Connecting volunteers to people who need help, and • Providing financial resources to our partnerprograms who coordinate this care. It’s about caring for people who have cared for us. It all comes full circle.

  9. 2014 Campaign Goals & Incentives • Share your company’s GOALS: Increase employee participation by 10% and Increase #1 Club membership to 25 people! • Share your company’s INCENTIVES: When you join the Heart Club, enjoy an extra day of vacation in 2014!
