  13. This lesson… • We are going to review how to analyse data using a frequency table. To succeed: you will know how to find the mean and mode from a grouped frequency table. To excel: you will know how to find the class that contains the median from a grouped frequency table. Challenge: to use a frequency table to present the data in a cumulative frequency diagram.

  14. It’s the year 2033…

  15. …and how exciting! It’s our 20-year 11S-Ma2 class reunion!

  16. Many of you have careers, spouses and children- which means a lot of data for me! 

  17. Being the extremely cool mathematician that I am I decide to analyse some of this data. First, I want to find out the average number of children that my students have had.

  18. Next, I would like to find out the average age of the children.

  19. What makes analysing this data more difficult?

  20. Try it! • Each of you has a number 1-3. • You must group yourself so you have 1 of each number. Together, try and answer the exam question on finding averages from a frequency table.

  21. Question 1- 3 marks

  22. Question 2- 5 marks

  23. Try it yourself…
