Tasks • Schedule a session • Test to see if the computer is ready • Load Housekeeping Slides • Start recording • Simon, I mean, the Pirate says… • Whiteboarding Tools • Share an application or desktop • Give Moderator permissions to someone else • Conduct a web tour • Stop Recording & Boot everyone out • Watch a min or two of the archive • Grab your treasure

  4. Scheduling a Session • Recurring Meeting is a great tool • CC Capable • Requires 48hrs advance setup • Avail 7AM->10PM

  5. Test Computer Readiness • First time for class • Suggest that they do the test in advance • Open up session 30min prior http://www.cccconfer.org/support/supportReadiness.aspx

  6. Load Housekeeping Slides • PowerPoint must be closed, not just the file that you are trying to load • You will want to ensure that your housekeeping slides are in front of your content slides before loading your ppt content

  7. Launch Session + Start Recording • Launch Session • http://www.cccconfer.org • Select Student Log in, find session, follow prompts and have PIN code • Try to have mixture of VOIP, mobile, and telephone • Toggle blue phone / blue mic to shift modes • Start Recording • Good idea to let students know that you are recording • I usually ask folks to go on mute (talk button not active) • NOTE: Students will typically want to chat vs going voice and being on camera

  8. Simon, I mean, the Pirate says… • Get giggywith it • Emoticons • Step Away • Raise Hand • Polling • Polling Suggestions • Use Tools>>Polling to: • Make Responses Visible – Off • Once everyone votes, Publish Results to Whiteboard

  10. Share an application or desktop • Select Sharing • Either select Sharedesktop (all apps) or a single app only

  11. Give Moderator permissions to someone else • Allows passing control to user • Great for Virt Office Hours in programming • Can record and archive for others to see • Once user has control, they can share one of their apps

  13. Stop Recording & Boot Everyone Out • Once completed, you need to stop recording • Archiving will not start until everyone has left the room • Right click and Remove (any remaining) Participant(s) • Once you (last Moderator) exits, the archive process starts

  14. Watch a min or two of the archive • Launch Archive Session • http://www.cccconfer.org • Select View Archives based on type of session, find session, follow prompts and have PIN • Must be viewed on PC • Windows, Mac, or Linux • No Mobile archive playback
